Attendance

Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance. As we fulfill our Promise2Purpose, we strongly encourage every student to attend school every day.

The tardy bell rings at 8:10 am. Classes begin right after this bell rings, so students entering late are missing out on key instruction and interventions. Attendance is taken at 10:00 am daily. Students arriving after 10:00 am will be counted absent unless they have a doctor's note.

All parent notes regarding absences must be either handwritten or entered through Skyward within 5 days of the absence.  Phone calls and emails are not accepted.  Medical notes should be turned in to the front office.

Enter Absences Through Skyward

Klein ISD allows parents to enter absence requests through Skyward. By using your Skyward Family Access account, you will now be able to report your student(s) absence electronically and save the time of writing and turning notes in to the attendance office. For assistance with your login name or password, contact the campus registrar or email familyaccess@kleinisd.net.
